Benefits of Wearing a Hearing Aid

A study conducted by the National Council on Aging and the Seniors Research Group found that people with hearing loss who chose to use hearing aids reported a significant improvement in the quality of their lives. This study of over 2,000 adults and their families and friends concluded that hearing aids helped improve relationships and independence in social settings. The study also revealed that hearing-impaired respondents age 50 and older with untreated hearing loss were more likely to suffer from depression, anxiety and paranoia.*

** Hearing aids do not restore natural hearing. Individual experiences vary depending on the severity of hearing loss, accuracy of evaluation, proper fit, and ability to adapt to amplification.
