Support groups help people overcome a variety of challenges. From emotional trauma to drug and alcohol addiction, these groups offer dialogue and interaction between people who share common a struggle. The Hearing Loss Association of America (HLAA) is one such group and, with over 200 state and local chapters, they’re lending a hand to the hearing impaired. The leaders of these groups are volunteers who have direct experience with hearing loss, which means they understand the condition and can provide coping strategies, as well as valuable perspective to those in need. We urge our patients, and their friends and family members, to check out the Rochester chapter or one of the other HLAA locations throughout the state of New York.
